THON
THON is a 46 hour student-run dance marathon at Penn State committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. Our mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research - all in pursuit of a cure.
In 2022, THON raised $13,756,374.50 donated to the Four Diamonds Foundation, providing thousands of hours of cost-free care to THON families. Three Pi Chapter brothers danced for all 46 hours, Fraters Declan Costello, Brendan Teufel, and Matthew Lanza. In total, Pi Chapter TKE paired with Epsilon Sigma Alpha raised over $192,000! St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
In August 1978, TKE officially joined Frater Danny Thomas in the fight against childhood cancer by raising money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Now, 30 years later, TKE is recommitted to this amazing cause and will strive to continue the pledge set forth by our fellow Fraters. Even though Danny died in February 1991, his vision for St. Jude lives on.
In the past 6 years, Tau Kappa Epsilon International Fraternity has donated over $2.6 million to St. Jude Children's Hospital to help provide bill-free care to families with children with cancer or other life-threatening diseases.
